Sabbaghieh is an ancient red grape variety native to Lebanon.
Sabbaghieh produces a deep ruby coloured wine with aromas of red fruits such as cherries raspberries and strawberries, and vegetal notes.
Sabbaghieh is mainly grown in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley. Sabbaghieh is usally blend with Cabernet Sauvignon to add complexity to the wine. Sabbaghieh wines are best enjoyed with steak and aged cheese.
The name of Sabbaghieh means "dye” or “stain”, which refers to the high pigmentation of the grape.
