Recantina is a black grape variety. The wines have luscious blackberry fruit flavours and fine-grained and firm tannins.
Recantina on the brink of extinction until recently. Currently, it is mainly found in the province of Treviso in the Veneto region of northern Italy. Recantina pairs well with food such as game meats and cheese.
Recantina was considered among the best as early as the seventeenth century under the name Recardina or Recandina.
