Dostoyny is a new red grape variety developed from the cross of Dzhemete and Muscat of Hamburg. The crossing was carried out in Russia by breeders G. A. Zotkina, G. E. Nikulushkina, and L. I. Tkachenko.
In 2018, the Yubileynaya winery's dry red wine made from the Dostoyny grape won the Grand Prix of Russia's Winemakers and Vintners Union Cup, which was judged by an international panel of tasters. The wine has intense ruby color, with aromas black fruits such as blackcurrent.
Dostoyny is primarily grown in the Russia. According to the statistics in 2016, Russia designated 65 hectares of vineyards for Dostoyny variety.
