Altesse is mostly used to make varietal wines, but can be blended with Chasselas to create the crisp, refreshing, and aromatic sparkling wines of the Savoie region. Altesse wines have good aging potential and show a distinctive taste profile of tropical fruits and minerals. Altesse pairs well with a variety of dishes, from fish and seafood to creamy vegetable dishes and goat cheese.

Altesse was once a popular variety in the Savoie region of France, but its popularity has declined in recent years due to the rise of other varieties such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
