Abrusco

Abrusco is an uncommon old Italian grape variety. It is a dark-skinned variety with a deep ruby color and high tannins, which is why it is popular in blends. It offers typical notes of blackberries, cherries and raspberries, along with herbal and spicy notes. It has a dry flavor profile, medium-body and a lingering finish.

Abrusco is a vigorous grape variety that usually ripens in mid-season, providing optimal growing conditions. Winemakers use a number of techniques to bring out the best characteristics of this grape variety, such as prolonged maceration and aging in oak. Abrusco is a versatile companion for a wide variety of dishes. Its fruity aromas and medium body make it an ideal companion for grilled meats and vegetables, as well as tomato-based pasta dishes.

Abrusco is a traditional wild vine.
