WINE DESCRIPTION
Wölffer Estate's The Grapes of Roth Merlot is made from grapes grown on the estate's sustainably farmed vineyards. The grapes were de-stemmed and sorted before being fermented with regular punch-downs and pump-overs, as well as an extended maceration, to increase the extraction of tannins and flavor. The wine was then pressed off and transferred to French oak barrels where it was matured for just under two years, acquiring notes of vanilla and sweet spice.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
This Wölffer Estate The Grapes of Roth Merlot has a deep ruby red hue.On the nose, aromas of ripe black cherries and plum mingle with notes of cedar, baking spices, and a hint of earthiness. On the palate, powerful flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and hints of liquorice are balanced by well-integrated tannins and a long, smooth finish.
