Borell Diehl Pinot Noir is made from hand-harvested, fully de-stemmed estate-grown fruit in the Pfalz region located in the west of Germany. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel vats using indigenous yeast then transferred to old, large format barrels for maturation. Old oak is preferred as it does not contribute spicy flavors which could mask the delicate fruit flavors. The resulting wine is delicate with pure red fruit flavors and an underlying earthiness.

The Daily August Pinot Noir by August Kesseler is a dry, light bodied, refreshing red wine with aromatic notes of cherry fruit and a silken tannins texture intended to be drunk over the medium term. The steep slopes of the Rhinegau offer enough sun exposure to ripen Pinot Noir over a long growing season. August Kesseler is a master of German Pinot Noir and the Daily August is his entry level offering made in a lightly oaked style for everyday drinking with lighter dishes like salmon or chicken. The winemaking involved hand harvesting, cold soaking to maximize fruit wihilst moderating tannins, a cooler ferment to maximize fruit expression and a period in old oak to added texture to the mid-palate. The end result is a great alternative to regional Burgundy with a riper cherry fruit expression.
