Villa S. Anna Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a red wine from Tuscany. It is made from Sangiovese grapes that are grown in the area surrounding the town of Montepulciano. It is offen confused with Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, another red wine made with the Montepulciano grape in the Abruzzo region. The winemaking involves more than 2 years of aging in a mix of large oak vats and in the bottle prior to release. This results in a wine with softer, more resolved tannins compared to many other Sangiovese based wines from Tucany. This is a great choice for anyone who enjoys exploring the wines of Italy in greater detail or for those who seek an Italian wine with a more forgiving structure.

On the nose, this Vino Nobile di Montepulciano offers an enticing bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as red cherries and damon plums, accompanied by delicate floral notes and hints of spice.Upon tasting, this wine reveals a medium to full body with a granular texture that coats the palate. The flavors are rich and complex, whilst the lean acidity provides balance to this richness. The finish is long with evolving notes of sweet tobacco and new leather. The well-balanced acidity and refined tannins contribute to a long and elegant finish. It can be enjoyed now for its complex style but it will hold for longer on account of its underlying tannic structure. It pairs exceptionally well with hearty Italian dishes, such as pasta with rich tomato-based sauces, grilled meats, and aged cheeses.
