WINE DESCRIPTION
Villa Pomona Chianti Classico Riserva is a Sangiovese-dominated wine from the original historic Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, Italy. Grapes are grown at high elevation on predominantly water-retaining calcareous marl soils which helps slow the ripening to allow optimal conditions for flavor development. Fermentation occurs on the skins in temperature-controlled steel vats, followed by maturation which takes place in big Slavonian oak barrels for approximately 20 months and a further period in bottle before release.

The palate reveals a harmonious balance between its fruit concentration and grippy tannins. The flavors on the palate are reflect the nose, with the addition of subtle tomato leaf notes and a pleasant spiciness. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a lingering impression of red fruit.
