WINE DESCRIPTION
Viejo Isaías Elegido is roughly an equal split of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the Lujan de Cuyo region of Mendoza. This high elevation sub-region experiences higher levels of sunlight compared to the lower lying valley floor, resulting in grapes with thicker skins and by extension, it produces more tannic wines. The wine is fermented in inert vessels before spending around 18 months in a combination of French and American oak that softens the tannins and contributes sweet oak spice.

Viejo Isaías Elegido displays an inky purple color in the glass.On the nose, you can expect aromas of ripe dark fruits, such as blackberries and blackcurrants, accompanied by subtle hints of vanilla and violets. The palate offers a smooth and velvety texture, with flavors of dark berries, plums, and a touch of chocolate. The tannins are well-integrated, whilst the lively acidity provides structure, helping to offset the ripe black fruit. The wine shows excellent definition, with perfumed notes of violets and fresh herbs that reveal themselves on the lingering finish.

Mendoza is the largest wine-producing region in Argentina, located in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Mendoza has been producing wine since the 16th century, when Spanish settlers first brought vines to the region. Since then, the region has become a major producer of both red and white wines, with a focus on Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Torrontés.
