In 1999, the Estevez family acquired one of the oldest Sherry Soleras, Bodegas Valdespino, which includes a 56-hectare vineyard known as Marcharnudo Alto. These vineyards are situated in the prime Sherry region, characterized by the presence of albariza soils, the typical white chalky soil of Jerez. Valdespino produces exceptionally high-quality Sherries, which, after appropriate aging in the Solera system, rank among the world's most prestigious. Valdespino offers a range of classic styles, including Fino/Manzanilla, Amontillado, and Oloroso, and its rich history and vineyards enable the production of exquisite niche Sherries. The internationally renowned V.O. Sherries include Very Old Sherrys aged for over 20 years in the Solera and V.O.R.S. (Very Old Rare Sherries) aged for over 30 years.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
Valdespino Deliciosa Manzanilla is a delightful and elegant wine that hails from the Manzanilla region of Spain. This wine is known for its pale straw color and its fresh, crisp flavors. On the nose, you can expect to find aromas of green apple, citrus, and a hint of sea breeze. The palate is light and refreshing, with flavors of lemon, almond, and a saline minerality that is characteristic of wines from this region. The finish is long and dry, leaving a pleasant, lingering aftertaste.
