This beautiful Italian red from Tommasi is a Valpolicella Classico Superiore.It is crafted from a classic blend of Corvina and Rondinella grapes, which are grown in vineyards located near the historic village of Fumane in the Valpolicella appellation. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks before being matured in large oak casks for 12 months. On the nose, the wine presents aromas of blackberries and cherries, with hints of spice, vanilla and licorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich, with a velvety texture and flavors of ripe dark fruits, hints of tobacco and earth, and a balanced acidity. The finish is long and elegant, with a lingering hint of spice. This is a lovely Valpolicella Classico Superiore to enjoy with slow-cooked dishes or grilled meats.
