Clean bottle remains, despite the oppressive weather. Virginia's pleasant weather is a welcome respite. The Pinot Gris is a pleasing surprise, with a seamless blend of stone fruit and vanilla flavors. The linger is smooth, with a suggestion of lemon blossom and smoke. A decent effort, with a half-star deduction for the lack of complexity.
Tietia
Pale yellow and pale golden glint on the surface, with a even mineral and citrus note. The nose reveals a dry, medium-bodied profile with suggestions of ripe stone fruit, but the mouthfeel is flabby and lacks depth. The nuances of tree fruit, notably melon, are moderate, but the aftertaste is brief and unremarkable.
Fayssal
The oak's substantial boldness dominates the wine, elevating the fruit to a more prominent role. A Chardonnay-inspired style, with Meyer lemon, melon, and a touch of minerality, adds a refreshing touch.
