WINE DESCRIPTION
Hess Persson Estates stands as a renowned family winery in Napa Valley, celebrated globally for its exceptional Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery produces two acclaimed wine series: The Hess Collection and Napa Valley's Lions Head Collection, all while championing sustainable farming practices in alignment with the founder Donald Hess's ethos of giving back to the land. Following Donald's retirement in 2017, his daughter Sabrina and her husband Tim Persson now lead the estate. Their signature Chardonnay, the Lioness, embodies Donald Hess's fearless spirit and is an ode to the family crest, referencing Mount Lions Head in South Africa, a place of significance to Tim.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
The Hess Collection The Lioness Chardonnay is an exceptional wine that showcases the elegance and complexity of a well-crafted Chardonnay. With its golden hue and inviting aromas of ripe tropical fruits, such as pineapple and mango, this wine immediately captivates the senses.
On the palate, The Lioness Chardonnay offers a harmonious balance between richness and freshness. The flavors of juicy pear, baked apple, and citrus zest intertwine seamlessly, creating a delightful symphony of taste. The wine's creamy texture adds a luxurious touch, while vibrant acidity provides a refreshing lift.
The oak aging process contributes to the wine's structure and imparts subtle notes of vanilla and toasted oak, enhancing the overall complexity. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and finesse.
