Crafted by the prestigious St. Michael-Eppan winery in Alto Adige, the Sanct Valentin Pinot Grigio stands as a testament to Italian winemaking excellence. Originating in 1986, this distinguished wine undergoes a meticulous process, beginning with hand-harvested grapes from select vineyards in Oltradige, featuring limestone gravel soils and elevations ranging from 420 to 600 meters. The vines, aged 15 to 32 years, yield a Pinot Grigio of remarkable character. Following a September to October harvest, the grapes are fermented, undergo malolactic fermentation, and develop on lees in barrique-tonneaux. After nearly a year, the blend matures for an additional eight months in concrete tanks, resulting in a Pinot Grigio that beautifully marries integrated acidity, strength, and fullness. Sanct Valentin Pinot Grigio is celebrated as one of Italy's most exceptional expressions of this varietal, promising a superb drinking experience that only deepens with time.
