Wine Description:
Sette Vigne Rosso is a blend of seven different Italian varieties. A de-stemming, the grapes are not crushed, allowing them to remain intact, reducing damage to the skins and optimizing color extraction. Fermentation takes place for 8-10 days aiming to achieve a soft extraction of aromas and gentle tannins. The Corvina grapes follow a different technique called “appassimento” which involves drying grapes in a well aerated loft until they lose up to 50% of their original weight in water. The grapes are crushed and placed in stainless steel tanks for a very slow fermentation. Following vinification, 40% of each of the seven wines is individually placed in second and third passage barriques for 6 months to gain added aromas of sweet spice.

Prà Morandina Valpolicella is a distinguished red wine from the renowned Prà winery in the Valpolicella appellation of Italy. The vineyard is strategically located with a southeast exposure at an altitude of 450 meters, fostering optimal grape ripening. The soil, rich in limestone, imparts a unique character to the wine. The grape varietals include Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Oseleta. Employing traditional winemaking techniques, the grapes undergo a gentle appassimento process for 20 days, followed by destemming and vinification using the délestage method. The wine ferments in vertical steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation in large oak barrels for 3-6 months. The result is a wine with a perfect balance, expressing the terroir through its nuanced flavors of dark fruits, complemented by subtle oak notes.

Fabrizio Luli, the owner of Cantina Luli, grew up in Piemonte, in a restaurant family. For over 60 years, the Iuli family served award winning Piedmontese cuisine. However, it was the locals asking for a house wine that got Fabrizio interested in winemaking. Fabrizio Luli likes to make his wines in the Piedmontese tradition, using cement and oak. Based on the characteristic white earth and the minerality of the soils he aims to make subtle wines. Wines that are elegant, fresh, crisp, vibrant and easy to drink. The Luli Umberta is his entry level wine. The wine has a bright ruby red colour. The nose has scents of red fruits and violets. The palate is fresh, smooth and juicy with lively tannins.
