WINE DESCRIPTION
Seméli Nemea Reserve is a mature, dry, oaked red wine for immediate enjoyment with food. Seméli is an iconic winery within its domestic market, having been established in 1979 in the high quality region of Nemea. Word of the quality of its wines has reached international buyers, and exports have recently grown to 20% of production. The wine is made from the native Greek variety Agiorgitiko with the wine being matured in high quality French oak for 12 months before several years maturation in bottle. The result is a developed style with resolved and integrated tannins and acidity which makes for an ideal food partner. This is a great choice for any lover of Mediterranean styles looking to expand their horizons.

Seméli Nemea Reserve Agiorgitiko shows a garnet edge to its deep ruby color.On the nose there is both fresh cherry and dried prune along side notes of licorice. The palate is medium bodied and seamless with well integrated tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is long and evolving with notes of coffee and nutmeg. This is a style destined for fodd and it would work well with dishes where one might first think about a Montepulciano or Chianti Classico, such as grilled steaks or pasta dishes with red sauce bases. Normally released with maturity, drink this wine within a few years of purchase.
