Scholium Project Androkteinos Hudson Vineyards is a striking expression of 100% Syrah from the renowned Widowmaker block of Lee Hudson’s Henry Road vineyards in Napa’s Carneros region. The vineyard, situated in the fertile, loamy bottomlands of the Huichica Creek and planted in the early 2000s, provides a robust foundation for this wine. Since starting with this vineyard in 2007, Scholium Project has crafted the wine using 100% whole clusters, with no destemming, and matured it for 18 months in neutral barrels. Notably, the wine ages without added sulfur dioxide and is bottled with minimal SO2, enhancing its purity and depth. Named "Androkteinos," after the Homeric epithet meaning "Slayer of Men," this Syrah delivers intense, powerful flavors, reflecting both the unique terroir and the winemaker's innovative approach.
