With the assistance of four-legged companions, this family estate, originally founded by Robert Barbichon, now enters its second generation under the leadership of brothers Thomas Barbichon and Maxime. They oversee 17 diverse parcels of land spanning 9 hectares in Gyé-sur-Seine along the Côte des Bar. Much of their vineyards lie in Gyé-sur-Marne and neighboring villages such as Celles-sur-Ource, Courteron, and Neuville-sur-Seine. The south-facing vines predominantly thrive in clay and limestone soils, averaging around 40 years old, with some dating back to 1953. Since 2007, the estate holds organic certification, transitioning to biodynamic practices following Demeter guidelines in 2012. At this estate, primarily planted with Pinot Noir as is common in the Côte des Bar, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and the rare Pinot Blanc are also cultivated. Their viticultural approach emphasizes minimal intervention and sustainability, employing techniques like horse plowing to avoid soil compaction and precise, non-invasive vineyard work. During harvest, a stringent selection process ensures that only the finest grape material is utilized in their winemaking.

Champagne is a sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region of France, located in the northeast of the country. It is one of the most famous and iconic wine regions in the world, renowned for its unique sparkling wines.
The history of Champagne dates back to the early 17th century, when the region was first planted with vines. The region was initially known for its still wines, but it was not until the 19th century that the production of sparkling wines began. The first sparkling Champagne was produced in 1836, and the region has since become synonymous with sparkling wines.
