Rivers-Marie Pinot Noir

Rivers-Marie is a Sonoma based producer who focuses upon the Burgundian varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Of the two, Pinot Noir is by far the biggest focus with a number of single vinyard offerings availale. It makes their Sonoma Coast designated Pinot Noir something of a hidden secret. Due to rigorous quality control, a lot of high quality single vineyard fruit ends up ihiding behind this more humble label. Very little oak is used in order to highlight different parcels and clones and what they add to the final wine. Expect pomegranate, cranberry and black cherry fruit mixed with floral and earthy notes. Always silken in texture with lean acidity cleansing the palate this is a wine that more people should know, which you also want to keep a secret for yourself.
