Rippon 'Emma's Block' Mature Vine Pinot Noir is a distinguished wine from Rippon Vineyard, located in Central Otago, New Zealand. This Pinot Noir comes from a special parcel known as Emma's Block, which is situated on the east-facing escarpment above Lake Wanaka. Emma’s Block is named after the great-great-great grandmother, through whom the name entered into the family. The mature vines, rooted in schist and gravel soils, benefit from the region's cool climate and long growing season, contributing to the wine's depth and complexity. The grapes were hand-picked, followed by a natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, a portion of which are new, to enhance its structure and add subtle oak nuances.
