Sourced from Raymond’s estate vineyards in Rutherford and St. Helena, as well as select nearby sites, this Cabernet Sauvignon thrives in gravelly alluvial fan soils, known for their excellent drainage. The meticulous vineyard management, including shoot thinning and cluster adjustments, ensures evenly ripened grapes with concentrated flavors. The wine undergoes an extended maceration of 25 days on the skins, followed by 18 months of aging in French oak barrels, with 30% being new and the remainder once and twice-used. The inclusion of Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah in the final blend adds depth and complexity. Bottled unfiltered, Raymond Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon offers a rich, textured palate with impressive presence and balance.
