WINE DESCRIPTION
R. Dubois & Fils Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge comes from the higher elevation slopes in the Côtes de Nuits. These areas were historically seen as yielding lesser quality grapes, given the fact the wines were often a little green and light. One could argue that global warming has positively effected this appellation, creating wines with greater generosity of fruit and more reliable ripeness levels from year to year. The vines are planted on clay limestone soils. Destemming and fermentation occurs in the winery located in Premeaux-Prissey, before the wine is aged for around 6 to 9 months in oak barrels before being bottled.
