At just 15 years old, he took over the winemaking at his family's estate in Niederösterreich, while his parents concentrated on viticulture across their 20 hectares of organic vineyards. For over 30 years, sustainability and biodiversity have been central to their approach, long before these practices were mainstream. They prioritize soil health and vitality, avoiding herbicides and pesticides, and instead, they plant cover crops, use high trellises to reduce fungal problems, and apply natural fertilizers. Their commitment to organic farming has cultivated not only exceptional wines but also a thriving, balanced ecosystem in their vineyards.
