WINE DESCRIPTION
Porca de Murca Tinto is a red wine made by Real Companhia Velha, the oldest wine copany in Portugal. The wine is made from mostly Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacinoal grapes with other red port grapes used in varying amounts depending onthe vintage. All the fruit comes from the Quinta do Casal da Granja estate, which is noted for its warm climate. Fermented in stainless steel at low temperatures the wine is fresh, vibrant and fruity. This is well suited to casual drinking and weeknight dining.

On the nose, Porca de Murca Tinto offers enticing aromas of ripe dark fruits, such as blackberries and plums. The palate is medium-bodied with refreshing acidity and thick, velvety tannins.The finish is short and clean. The intensely ripe, but uncomplicated style makes this wine well suited to stews and pot-pies. Drink within 5 years.

The Douro Valley in Portugal is one of the oldest and most iconic wine regions in the world. Located in the north of the country, the region is renowned for its stunning scenery and its production of world-class fortified wines.
The Douro Valley was first demarcated in 1756 and originally applied only to port production. It was extended to include table wine in 1979, with the first glimmer of the region’s potential for non-fortified still red wines appearing when port shippers Casa Ferreirinha launched Barca Velha in 1952.
