WINE DESCRIPTION
Poggiotondo Chianti Superiore is made predominantly from Sangiovese grapes grown in the Chianti appellation. The vineyards are planted on marine, calcareous soils in the western part of Chianti which has a mild and dry climate thanks to the influence of the Mediterranean Sea. Grapes are harvested manually, destemmed and crushed, then fermented in temperature-controlled
cement tanks. Finally, the wine is aged in large barrels followed by a short period of aging in bottle prior to release.

This Poggiotondo Chianti Superiore offers a pale to medium ruby red color with garnet reflections.The nose is intensely vinous, with hints of red fruits and brushed herbs. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and well balanced, with grippy tannins and a firm core of acidity that gives the wine mouthwatering freshness. The palate reflects the nose with notes of sour cherry, red plum and tomato leaf alongside mineral notes of potting soil that are present on the moderate, savory finish.
