Wine Description:
This Montefalco Rosso is a blend of Sangiovese and Sagrantino from the Montefalco appellation of Umbria, produced by Plani Arche. The estate is certified organic and family run by husband and wife team Roberto Di Filippo and Elena Pompeii. Plani Arche is comprised vineyards across 6 parcels planted predominant on calcareous clay soils. Grapes are destemmed prior to the fermentation, which occurs in temperature-controlled vats. The wine is aged for around 12 months in large oak barrels, with another 4 months in bottle before release.
