The vines are Pre-phylloxera saplings of 80-90 years of age. The volcanic soil and high-altitude terroir lend unique minerality to the grapes. The winemaking involves fermentation in cement tanks, followed by aging in French oak barrels for 14 months, resulting in a wine of remarkable complexity.
