In 1982, Sir Peter and Lady Margaret Michael established the Peter Michael Winery on the rugged volcanic slopes of Mount St. Helena in Knights Valley, Sonoma County, California. These vineyards encompass steep hillsides, ranging from 1100 to nearly 2000 feet in elevation, occupying just about 20% of the vast 600-acre estate.
