WINE DESCRIPTION
In 1999, Penner-Ash began sourcing fruit with the goal of creating a distinctive Oregon Syrah. Over the years, they developed a signature style that balances structure and sweetness from the warmer southern Oregon vineyards with blue fruit notes, nice acidity, and freshness from Hood River sourcing. This Syrah is aged for 15 months in 45% new French oak, enhancing its complexity and depth. The result is a beautifully balanced wine that embodies the unique characteristics of Oregon's diverse terroir.

Bold, full-bodied Syrah from Oregon that exceeded my expectations, offering a rich, polished touch and a rich flavor profile that included plum, chocolate, and a hint of smokiness. The wine's smooth, rounded trail and medium brightness made it a perfect match for grilled steak. I was impressed by the wine's ability to evoke the spirit of the Northern Rhone, despite being a distinctly Oregonian varietal. I highly recommend this wine and look forward to trying it again.
