Western Australia is the largest of the eight administrative zones and territories of Australia, accounting for 20% of the nation's fine wines. Spanning 1,600km from east to west, it is the second-largest administrative subdivision of any country in the world.
Western Australia has a long and rich history of winemaking, with the first vines planted in the Swan Valley in 1829. Since then, the region has grown to become one of Australia's most important wine regions, producing a wide range of styles from both traditional and modern varieties.
