WINE DESCRIPTION
Passage Rock Syrah is a spicy that perfectly showcases the varietal characteristics of the Syrah grape. Hailing from the Waiheke Island appellation, located in Auckland, on the North Island of New Zealand, these vineyards experience a warm, dry climate compared to the mainland, resulting in a longer growing season. After harvesting and crushing the grapes, the wine undergoes an alcoholic fermentation on skins at controlled temperatures in order to manage tannin and flavor extraction to create an approachable, earlier drinking style of Syrah.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
Passage Rock Syrah showcases a deep, dark ruby-purple color and intense aromas of black fruits, such as blackberry and black plum, along with hints of spice and pepper. On the palate, it offers a rich and medium to full-bodied experience with well-integrated alcohol. The wine has a rounded texture with supple tannins that balance the rich dark fruit profile. The medium length finish is marked by distinctive notes of freshly cracked kampot pepper and a hint of violets.
