WINE DESCRIPTION
P.S. Garcia Facundo Red Blend marks the inception of Felipe's solo winemaking journey. It harmoniously combines ancient Carignan vines with Bordeaux varietals sourced from the core of Chile. The Carignan and Cabernet Franc grapes thrive in the historic vineyards of Maule Valley, while Cabernet Sauvignon hails from Itata, and Petit Verdot from Colchagua. These vineyards yield naturally low quantities due to their granitic soils. The individual components undergo separate vinification, followed by a 28-month aging period in third and fourth-use French neutral oak barrels. Finally, the wine is gently filtered before bottling.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
P.S.Garcia Facundo Red Blend is a delightful wine that showcases a harmonious blend of red grape varieties. The exact composition of this blend may vary depending on the vintage, but it typically includes a combination of rich and robust grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
On the nose, this wine offers an enticing bouquet of ripe dark fruits, such as blackberries and plums, accompanied by subtle hints of spice and oak. The palate is equally impressive, with a full-bodied and velvety texture that coats the mouth with flavors of black cherries, cassis, and a touch of vanilla. The tannins are well-integrated, providing structure and balance to the wine.
P.S. Garcia Facundo Red Blend is a versatile wine that pairs well with a variety of dishes. It complements grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses beautifully. The wine's depth and complexity make it suitable for both casual gatherings and special occasions.
