WINE DESCRIPTION
Oakwood Merlot is a dry, medium bodied, fruit forward, youthful, red wine with notes of plum and chocolate with supple tannins and moderate acidity intended for casual drinking over the short term. The wine is made from 100% Merlot grown across California. The wine was fermented at cooler temperatures to preserve the fruit profile and extraction was gentle to ensure a softer mouthfeel. The wine was aged in MIssouri oak barrels for a touch of sweet spice complexity. A good choice for those who enjoy Californian ripeness but who are seeking an everyday drinking option.

Whilst the medium intensity ruby color could belong anywhere the nose is certainly Californian with ripe blueberry and plum fruit along with a hint of chocolate.The body is medium and rounded with supple tannins and moderate acidity offering a plush mouthfeel without any sharp edges. The finish is not long but does show a touch of vanillin oak making this above entry level in quality terms. Serve with nachos and enjoy with your favorite series.
