Nat Cool embodies natural coolness and funkiness, spearheading an innovative concept championed by Niepoort. Collaborating with various producers, we've crafted approachable, light wines. In the Vinho Verde region, we've produced a wine reminiscent of the traditional "cloudy" wines, bottled with residual sugar and lees for re-fermentation. Welcome to the Nat Cool experience! Primarily sourced from Lousada, we've followed the age-old approach, leaving a few grams of sugar in the wine for bottle re-fermentation. Malolactic fermentation also occurred in the bottle, resulting in this unique and exciting creation.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
Crafted with minimal intervention, this white wine maintains its natural cloudiness from bottle fermentation.Purposefully unfiltered, it displays a lemon yellow hue with delicate green tinges. The aroma evokes Vinho Verde's historic wines, featuring yeasty nuances, subtle citrus, peach, and herbal hints. On the palate, it shines with remarkable acidity, a gentle effervescence lending vibrancy, and a saline finish. This intentionally uncomplicated wine invites you to lightly agitate the bottle before opening and pairs wonderfully with traditional Portuguese snacks.

In the 19th century, the region began to specialize in white wines, and the Vinho Verde style was born. The name "Vinho Verde" literally translates to "green wine," and refers to the fact that the wine is meant to be enjoyed young.
