The North Coast of California boasts some of the most renowned vineyards and wineries in the world. Located in the northern part of the state, the North Coast is home to the Napa Valley, Sonoma County, and Mendocino County, all of which are recognised for their exceptional wines. The North Coast of California has a long and storied history of winemaking, dating back to the mid-1800s. The region was first planted with vines by Spanish missionaries, who planted Mission grapes in the area. In the late 1800s, Italian immigrants began to settle in the region, bringing with them their own grape varieties and winemaking techniques.
