Leeu Passant, founded by Andrea & Chris Mullineux and partner Analjit Singh (Bas), pays tribute to South Africa's rich winemaking history. Inspired by the Cape of Good Hope's 350-year-old wine legacy, the trio, much like wandering lions, sought vineyard treasures. This endeavor resurrects the spirit of pioneers who smuggled European vines into South Africa in the '80s and '90s. The red wine draws inspiration from Château Libertas, famed for its Cinsault-Cabernet blend. Leeu Passant's debut in 2015 showcased their exceptional winemaking skills, offering a limited collection of 10,000 bottles. Located in Franschhoek, a historical wine hub founded by Huguenot refugees, the winery adds to the region's prestige.
