WINE DESCRIPTION
Marietta Gibson Block Syrah is a standout red wine from California. It is produced in the McDowell Valley AVA in Mendocino County. The area is home to some of the oldest Syrah vines in the state and is a hub from dry-farming without the use of irrigation. This Syrah gapes for this wine come from a single vineyard named the Gibsin block after its location next to the old Gibson homestead. The low yielding old vine produce very ripe fruit. The winemaking is about allowing the fruit to express itself, with a long 24 months aging in neutral oak. The overall result a very full, black fruited Syrah with very will integrated tannins. This make a fine choice for any Syrah or Rhone drinker and makes a great match with venison.
