WINE DESCRIPTION
Marcelo Pelleriti Reserve Malbec hails from the Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina. This high elevation region experiences high levels of UV light and wide day-night temperature swings which naturally creates grapes with thicker skins, whilst retaining acidity during the growing season. Marcelo is a leading winemaker in Argentina, having learned by the hand of the legendary consultant enologist Michel Rolland. The wine is fermented, then matured for around 12 months in French oak barrels, with roughly a further 6 months bottle aging prior to its release.

Marcelo Pelleriti Reserve Malbec is known for its deep, intense purple-magenta color and rich, full-bodied character.On the nose, it offers succulent fruit aromas of blueberry, blackberry and plum, accompanied by hints of violets and vanilla. The palate is velvety and well-structured, with moderately firm tannins and a core of acidity that brings a natural balance and harmony to the wine, helping to offset the intense blueberry and blackberry fruit. The wine has a lifted floral quality reminiscent of violets, that reappears on the medium length finish.

Mendoza is the largest wine-producing region in Argentina, located in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. It is known for its high-altitude vineyards, producing some of the country's most renowned wines. With a long history of winemaking, Mendoza is now one of the most important wine regions in South America. The territory of Mendoza can be divided into five large sub-regions, which give the varieties their particular characteristics: Valle de Uco GI, integrated by the departments of Tunuyán, Tupungato and San Carlos; Primera Zona, which includes the departments of Luján de Cuyo and Maipú; the Northern oasis (Lavalle and Las Heras), the East (San Martín, Rivadavia, Junín, Santa Rosa and La Paz) and the South (San Rafael, Malargüe and General Alvear), covering practically the entire provincial geography.
Mendoza has been producing wine since the 16th century, when Spanish settlers first brought vines to the region. Since then, the region has become a major producer of both red and white wines, with a focus on Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Torrontés.
