WINE DESCRIPTION
Maison Stéphan Syrah is a mono-varietal wine hailing from vineyards in southern Ampuis and Chasse-sur-Rhône. Vines are planted on ancient alluvium and glacier moraine soils that retain heat and increase ripeness. Semi-carbonic fermentation takes place in stainless steel to produce soft, fruit-forward wines.
After alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wines spends 8 months in concrete tanks to help round out the tannins without contributing oak flavors. The result is a varietally expressive and pure Syrah brimming with black fruit and black pepper.
