WINE DESCRIPTION
Lynx Shiraz is a peppery Shiraz produced in the Franschhoek region in South Africa. It is produced by a family-run winery located at the foot of the Klein Drakenstein Mountains. Grapes are harvested early in the morning and undergo a cold soak prior to the fermentation to increase extraction of color and aromatics. Fermentation and a post-ferment maceration follows, with a maturation period of around 12 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels prior to bottling.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
Lynx Shiraz is a bold and robust red wine with a deep purple color that coats the glass. On the nose, you can find rich aromas of dark fruits such as blueberry, blackberry and plum, accompanied by hints of black pepper and violets. The palate is full-bodied and powerful with a round, creamy texture and velvety tannins. Notes of black fruit reappear on the palate with layers of vanilla and freshly cracked pepper that mark the long, lingering finish.
