Louis Jadot Pommard Rugiens is a red wine produced by the renowned negociant Louis Jadot. This wine comes from the Pommard appellation, which is known for producing a more structured style of Pinot Noir. The Rugiens vineyard, where the grapes for this wine are grown, is located on a steep slope with a unique soil that is high in iron giving the wine a ferrous minerality. The vineyard was classified as being of Premier Cru quality and it is the highest-regarded vineyard in the entire appellation. The winemaking process involves the partial use of whole bunches, followed by fermentation and aging in oak barrels. The resulting wine is full-bodied, with rich flavors of dark fruit, earth, and mineral notes. It has a long finish and can be enjoyed now or aged for several years.
