WINE DESCRIPTION
Louis-Antoine Luyt Huasa de Pilen Alto is an earthy red wine produced in the Maule Valley in Chile. The wine is made exclusively from 200-300-year-old Pais vines, hailing from the ‘Pilen Alto’ vineyard. This steep and high-elevation site is farmed organically without irrigation. After hand-harvesting and destemming the grapes, the wine undergoes a fermentation with a short maceration. Finally, Luyt Huasa de Pilen Alto matures in old wooden vats prior to bottling to round out the mouthfeel without contributing notes of oak spice.

There is also a hint of spice and turned earth, adding complexity and depth to the wine. The palate shows a harmonious balance between fruit concentration, supple tannic structure and acidity. The red fruit flavors continue to shine, complemented by a touch of earthiness and a delicate minerality that is present on the persistent finish.
