WINE DESCRIPTION
Lothian Vineyards Vineyard Selection Pinot Noir hails from Elgin, a cool coastal region located in South Africa's Western Cape produced by Lothian Vineyards estate. The grapes are typically all hand harvested, destemmed and fermented in open fermenters for a period of ten days. After a light press, the wines are racked off into French oak barrels to spend around eleven months to mature, improving its texture and aromatic complexity before it is bottled. This highly varietally-expressive wine shows plenty of juicy red berry fruit and can be enjoyed on release.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
Lothian Vineyards Vineyard Selection Pinot Noir reveals a pale to medium ruby color in the glass. On the nose, the wine is immediately expressive with aromas of ripe red cherries, strawberries, and hints of floral undertones. These aromas are complemented by delicate oak spice notes. The palate shows a good balance between fruit concentration and bright acidity, with flavors of red berries, plums, and a subtle hint of spice. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, providing a silky texture that frames the modest finish.
