WINE DESCRIPTION
Laporte Le Grand Rochoy Sancerre is an exquisite Sauvignon Blanc produced by Domaine du Rochoy. Cultivated on a 2.5-hectare vineyard with rich flinty soil, this Sancerre epitomizes the elegance of Loire Valley wines. Harvested by hand, the grapes undergo pneumatic pressing and cold static settling. The meticulous vinification process involves fermentation in both stainless steel tanks (50%) and oak barrels (50%), with temperature control ensuring optimal conditions. No malolactic fermentation or artificial yeast is employed. The wine matures on fine lees for 11 months, undergoing regular batonnage in the first six. Further refinement transpires during a minimum bottle aging of nine months before release. This meticulous craftsmanship results in a Sancerre that is complex, rich, and refined, showcasing the distinctive terroir of the Rochoy vineyard.
