WINE DESCRIPTION
Located in the UNESCO-recognized region of Piedmont, nestled within the heart of Barbaresco, this winery spans 24 hectares across four farmsteads: La Spinona, La Ghiga, Albina, and Bergera. With 20 hectares of these vineyards positioned in Barbaresco, they cultivate a variety of grapes including Nebbiolo for Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Chardonnay—the estate's sole white grape variety. The remaining 4 hectares thrive in Novello, where a superb vineyard with full southern exposure allows for the cultivation of Nebbiolo for Barolo. Complementing their vineyard operations, the winery sustains a herd of Piedmontese Fassona cattle, utilizing their manure as natural fertilizer for the vines.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
La Spinona Barbaresco is a renowned Italian wine that hails from the Barbaresco region in Piedmont. This wine is made from the Nebbiolo grape variety, which is known for producing complex and age-worthy wines.
On the nose, it offers an enticing bouquet of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, accompanied by floral notes of rose petals and violets. There are also subtle hints of spice, tobacco, and earthiness that add depth to the aroma profile.
On the palate, La Spinona Barbaresco showcases a harmonious balance between its fruit, acidity, and tannins. The red fruit flavors persist, accompanied by flavors of licorice, leather, and truffle. The wine's tannins are firm yet refined, providing structure and a pleasant mouthfeel. With age, these tannins soften and integrate further, enhancing the wine's complexity.
La Spinona Barbaresco is a wine that benefits from aging, and it can develop beautifully over time. It is recommended to decant the wine before serving to allow it to breathe and fully express its aromas and flavors. This wine pairs exceptionally well with hearty dishes such as roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses.

Chilo Crouchet
Robust and full-bodied Barbaresco, with a rich brown color and a undertone of red hue. The liveliness is well-balanced, and the wine is nicely structured. The earthy and spicy layers are a nice complement to a well-cooked pasta dish, especially one with a white wine sauce.

Deep and deep wine with a rich garnet color, enhanced by dried fruit and oak tones on the nose. The palate is shaped by cherry red fruit, tobacco smoke, and mushroom undertones, with a medium-bodied and round mouthfeel. The linger is dry and well-balanced, with good structure and a comforting finish.

Voluptuous and well-rounded perfume of rich fruit and cherry, with undertones of red fruit, leather, and vanilla. The notes are somewhat tannic, but a elegant licorice tone adds depth. The ending is medium, with a lingering sense of tannic dryness.
