WINE DESCRIPTION
Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz is made from very old vines that acquiredf ‘Ancestral Vines’ status in 2018 from the Barossa ‘Vine Charter’. These old vines produce extremely low yields of incredibly concentrated fruit. The grapes are hand-picked then sent to the winery that is located just 100 metres from the vineyard. After a short period of vinification the wine is then racked to new and 1-year old French oak barrels where it is aged for around 12-16 months. The resulting wine is impenetrably deep in color with an unctuous texture and decadently rich black fruit flavors showcasing the best of Australian Shiraz.

The Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz explodes on the nose with a complex bouquet of dark fruits, such as blackberry and plum, accompanied by hints of spice, chocolate, and vanilla.These aromas are further enhanced by subtle notes of tobacco and cedar, adding depth and complexity to the wine.
The palate reveals a luscious and concentrated palate, with ripe fruit flavors that are beautifully balanced by well-integrated tannins. The wine displays a remarkable depth and length, with a never-ending finish that leaves a lasting impression.
