K Vintners Art Den Hoed Viognier is a Rhone-style white wine produced in Washington State's Yakima Valley. The wine is made exclusively from Viognier grapes grown in the Art den Hoed Vineyard, which is located at over 1,300 feet or 400 meters of elevation. The cool location slows the ripening of the Viognier allowing the winemaker a greater window within which to capture the grapes at perfect ripeness. Winemaking in minimal with the use of ambient yeasts and a mix of neutral oak and stainless steel tanks. Maturation is short and in neutral vessels with texture coming from the the full body and not from lees work. The end result is a rich but balanced white with an aromatic expression of peach, orange blossom and apricot kernel. If you enjoy Chardonnay, try this.
