Domaine Julien Sunier Morgon, crafted by the ambitious young winemaker Julien Sunier, hails from the Morgon in Beaujolais, France. The vineyards, featuring an average vine age of 60 years, are situated at altitudes ranging from 270 to 430 meters with a favorable south to southwest exposure. The soils, characterized by pink granite sands, contribute to the wine's unique terroir. Employing gravity for encuvage, indigenous yeasts, and minimal sulfur dioxide, the winemaking involves carbonic maceration for 10 days followed by manual délestage and traditional vertical pressing. The aging process takes place in 228-liter barrels for eight to eleven months, resulting in a wine with generous black cherry and spice notes. The palate is expansive yet inviting, showcasing velvety tannins that enhance the overall richness of this Morgon.
