Jiménez-Landi Sotorrondero is a distinguished red wine from Méntrida, produced by the acclaimed winery Jiménez-Landi. Nestled in the village of Toledo Méntrida, in the northwest of Castilla la Mancha, this wine is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. The Grenache grapes hail from 45-year-old vines planted at altitudes between 750 and 850 meters in San Vicente, while the Syrah is sourced from 12-year-old vines at 630 meters in Méntrida. Cultivated on sandy-granite soils using organic farming and minimal interventionist methods, the grapes are hand-harvested in mid-September. Fermentation occurs in wooden and steel tanks for 15 to 30 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in barrels. The wine is aged for 11 months in French oak barrels and is neither clarified nor filtered before release.
